Red Hot Rhythm "Come Party to the Progressive Beat!" is the theme for this year’s Benefit, where we will celebrate Calhoun with Latin-inspired flavors, sounds and surroundings that will transport you to a bygone era of tropical sophistication and style. Join us in the land of rum, rumba and red-hot rhythm, where you will feel the heat and follow the beat of the Latin spirit.
Held each year, the Benefit is a wonderful yearly event when parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty/staff and friends come together to celebrate the school, the students and our entire community. The Benefit is also a vital element in Calhoun's fundraising efforts--helping to fund the school's annual operations, which are not covered by tuition alone.

Event Overview
The Benefit is a special evening where the Calhoun community comes together to celebrate our school! The night brings the chance to connect with new parents, socialize with familiar faces, and enjoy an adults-only night out filled with fun, laughter and surprises! The Benefit provides our community with a joyful night and raises vital funds to support our school and the amazing, enriching educational experience our children receive at Calhoun. Last year over 600 people attended the event, and we raised nearly $1 million for Calhoun.

This Year's Theme
This year's theme is quite simply a reflection of our children. The three ideas - Dream Big, Sparkle More, Shine Bright - are compiled together in one radiant reflection of the values that our school so graciously instills in our children each day. Encouraging our children's dreams and allowing their inner beauty to take front and center stage are goals that every parent hopes for their child, making it an easy choice for our community to celebrate collectively.

Our guests can lend their support to the night by letting their own sparkle shine through when choosing what to wear. Break out your most glitzy, glitter embellished green or gold ensemble. Sparkling dresses, ties, shirts, makeup and nails will be sure to add to the festive party atmosphere!

Highlights of the Night
Some of the highlights of the Calhoun Benefit include: a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, open bars, an amazing and expansive silent auction (including artwork from students at Little Calhoun and the Lower School 81st), a three-course dinner and a highly entertaining live auction and paddle raise!  We will also show a powerful video showcasing our students and our school that will only be available for viewing on Benefit night! This is all followed by a DJ, dancing and more!

NEW! Online Bidding! From mid-February until the noon the day of the Benefit you will be able to preview the auction online AND start your bidding. Learn more here!

NEW! No More Paper Bid Sheets! The night of the Benefit all silent auction bidding will be done via sleek interactive tablets and kiosks stationed around the room. Each table will have several easy to navigate tablets as well so you can bid from the comfort of your seat during dinner!

How To Buy Tickets
Watch your email on January 21st for an invitation to this year's event. Tickets will be available for purchase on this website from January 21st until February 22nd and in the school lobbies from February 9th to February 20th. During this time you will also be able to purchase tickets for faculty and staff (and their significant others) so that they too can enjoy this special night as we celebrate Calhoun!
